We are accredited with the Professional Firearms Training Council (PFTC) and provide the training from our premises in Centurion. Training is prescribed in the Firearms Control Act.
The unit standards consist of the following:
Unit standard 1: Law.
Unit standard 2: Handgun such as pistol or revolver for self-defence or for sport shooting.
Unit standard 3: Rifles such as hunting rifles or shotguns whether it's a pump-action or bird-shooting gun.
Unit standard 4: Self-loading rifles
There is an advantage if you do all the training and all those certifications up front, mainly in terms of time and cost saving.
Once you have passed your proficiency training, you will be issued with a training certificate. This will be used to submit your firearm competency to the police.
We will provide you with all the necessary SAPS forms you need to complete in order to submit the competency. This needs to be handed in at the police station nearest to your residential address.
